Our Story
Our story starts in 1996 when the World Friendship Flag was first recognized at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. Over the years, our organization has broadcast the message of world friendship and putting an end to childhood hunger.
Our Mission
Extending from Birmingham to Atlanta, to Chattanooga is a region tied together by the hospitality, friendship and caring of those who live there. It has been marked by The World Friendship Flag. Our mission is to have this region be known as the "Big Friendly Triangle".
Our Founder
John Turner, a retired school teacher, is the man behind the mission of the World Friendship Flag. Through his passion for helping others and friendship with renowned artist Howard Finster, Turner has led the charge of spreading friendship and ending childhood hunger for over 30 years.
